Email Hygiene is the service that performs real-time validation of the lead email address and assigns it into three categories — valid, risky, and toxic.
To enable the feature, go to the System Management > Products section and select the Product from the list. Click the “Settings” button in the “Actions” column. Select the “Lead Processing Rules (iClear)” tab, and click the “Add Service” button in the "Global Rules" section.
Select the "Email Hygiene" option from the "Select Third Party" service field and fill in the following fields to configure the feature:
Select the field to retrieve the email address: Select which field the system will retrieve the lead email from. (e.g., email).
Select the "Asynchronous" option to make a simultaneous request and process a lead without waiting for the lookup outcome. This execution type is recommended for analytical purposes and not for real-time filtration of a lead based on the lookup status. While processing a lead, the system makes a request to the Email Hygiene service. The lead will be processed as usual, but it could be added to the DNPL based on the result of the lookup status.
Select the "Synchronous" option to wait for the Email Hygiene lookup outcome before processing a lead. This execution type is recommended for real-time filtration of a lead based on the lookup status. Before processing a lead, the system makes a request to the Email Hygiene service. If the lead email is not found, the system will process the lead as usual. If the lead email is found, the system will process the lead according to the lookup status.
% of leads to lookup: Set the percentage of leads to be checked through this service.
Reject the lead if Phone Lookup returns this status(es): Select the Email Hygiene lookup status(es) based on which the system will reject leads. (This field is available for the Synchronous Execution Type only).
Status: Select the lookup status(es) that will determine which emails the system will add to the DNPLs: Verified / Undeliverable / Catch-All / Rote / Malformed / SpamTrap / Complainer / Bot / Seed Account / Unknown / Unauthorized / Disposable Email / Suppressed.
Do and Do Not Present lists: Select one or multiple Do or Do Not Present lists.
You can check the results of the "Email Hygiene" service using the All Reports > Publisher Reports > Lead Details report. The additional status will be added to the “Quality” column.
In addition, you can check the status of the lead email by clicking the Lead ID in the “ID” column. In the “Lead Body” tab scroll down to the email address and click on it.
