The Publisher Limits section allows instance owners to monitor and manage tracking expenses for their LMS publishers, who will be tracking their websites' activity.
Authorized users can set limits on both the maximum number of publisher websites and recordings per month by controlling their spending on HitMetrix per recording and controlling websites count.
This feature applies to all websites, regardless of website ownership.
Note: Only users with the Global Admin, HitMetrix Admin, and Support system roles have access to this section.
To view and manage the Publishers list, go to the System Management > Publisher Limits section.
You can narrow down the search results by using the “Filter” field with any string value related to the Publisher’s ID, account name, number of websites, number of websites limit, or number of maximum recordings per month.
The Publishers List contains the following information:
- ID: The Publisher’s unique identification number.
- Created At: The time and date when the Publisher was added to the list.
- Account: The Publisher’s account name on LMS end.
- Websites: The number of Publisher’s tracked websites for tracking.
- Websites Limit: The maximum number of websites that the Publisher can add.
- Max Recordings Per Month: A monthly limit for the number of recordings for the Publisher’s website(s).
To add a new Publisher, click the “Add Publisher” button.
In the “Add Publisher” pop-up window, fill in the following information:
- Publisher: Select the Publisher.
- Websites Limit: Enter the maximum number of websites that the Publisher can add for tracking.
- Websites Settings Access: Allow publishers to change the following settings for tracked websites.
- Respect Do Not Track Setting: Switch the toggle to the “On” position to allow the Publisher to change the “Respect Do Not Track” setting.
- Anonymize Visitor IP Addresses: Switch the toggle to the “On” position to allow the Publisher to change the “Anonymize Visitor IP Addresses” setting.
- Disable Keyboard Shortcuts: Switch the toggle to the “On” position to allow the Publisher to change the “Disable Keyboard Shortcuts” setting.
- Maximum Recording Per Month: Switch the toggle to the “On” position to allow the Publisher to change the “Maximum Recording Per Month” setting. If the toggle is set to the “OFF” position, enter the maximum number of recordings per month for the Publisher’s website(s) in the “Limit recordings/month” field
Click the “Save” button to complete the action, or click the “Cancel” button to close the window.
Note: When added, the Publisher will combine Publisher and HitMetrix Publisher system roles. To remove the HitMetrix Publisher role from the user, go to the LMS component > Publisher Management > Publishers section, select the corresponding Publisher, and click the “Edit” button in the “Actions” column. Remove the “HitMetrix Publisher” role from the “Groups” field. Once the action is completed, the HitMetrix component becomes unavailable for the Publisher, but still, the Publisher limit information will be displayed in the Publishers list in the HitMetrix component > System management > Publisher Limits section. Settings that were changed by Publisher will be restored to their defaults.
When the HitMetrix Publisher role is assigned to the Publisher via the LMS > Publishers > Edit > Groups, the Publisher will appear in the HitMetrix > System Management > Publisher Limits > Publishers List only after the Publisher will commit such action as adding the website in the HitMetrix > System Management > Webistes > Websites List.
To edit the Publisher’s permissions and website’s limits, click the “Edit” button in the “Actions” column.
Proceed with the changes in the “Edit Limits / Permissions” pop-up window and click the “Save” button to complete, or click the “Cancel” button to close the window.
Click the "Export" button and select "Current Page to CSV" to export the current page to CSV or "All Pages to CSV" to export all pages to CSV.
