How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication

The Two-Factor Authentication feature allows you to increase the security of your Phonexa account. Note: Each time you log in to your account, when the Two-Factor Authentication is disabled, you will be redirected to the page with the recommendation.

To set up or manage the Two-Factor Authentication, go to Account Settings > My Profile section, open the “Security” tab, and click the “Two-Factor Authentication” tab.

The Two-Factor Authentication is disabled by default. To enable this option, set up the primary cell phone number in the Contacts Settings section.

To set up the primary cell phone number, add the phone number to your account by clicking the “Add New Contact” button in the “Contacts Settings” tab and filling the following fields in the “Add New” pop-up window:

  • Type: Select the “Cell Phone” value.

  • Cell Phone: Enter the phone number in the required format.

Click the “Add” button to complete the action.

To verify the phone number, click the “Verify” button in the “Action” column and enter the SMS verification code in the “Verify Code” field.

Click the “Verify” button to complete. The phone number status in the “Status” column will change to “Active.”

To set up the phone number as a primary, click the “Set Primary” button in the “Actions” column and click the “Set Primary” button in the pop-up window.

When your primary cell phone number is set up, you can proceed to set up Two-Factor Authentication. Go to the “Two-Factor Authentication” tab, select the “Google Authenticator” option in the “Authentication Type” field and enter your current password. Follow the instructions on the page:

  • Download the “Google Authenticator” or “Microsoft Authenticator” app.

  • Using the app, scan a QR code.

  • Enter the Google Auth Code.

  • Enter the Current Password.

  • Click the “Save” button to complete.

Click the “Save” button to complete.

Each time you open the “Google Authenticator” or “Microsoft Authenticator” app on your device, an authentication code will be displayed. Note: An authentication code is updated every 30 seconds and is valid only for 30 seconds before it is refreshed.
